Fleur is a self taught artist specialising in unique, abstract pointillist oil and mixed media paintings, in a style she evolved, nearly 30 years ago.

She was born in Warwickshire, United Kingdom, in 1970 and now lives and works on the beautiful North Norfolk coast. She started painting in her late teens, however the tide of daily life, imposed restrictions on her early artistic output. It is only in more recent years that Fleur has been able to devote herself substantially to her artistic endeavours once again.

Although she attended the art faculty of Leamington Spa College, Warwickshire, and studied Fashion Marketing at the University of Northumbria, Tyne and Wear, Fleur regards her creative talents as more intuitive than tutored. She has commented that “the mechanics of applying paint to a surface can be taught, but ultimately art is conceived and created in the heart”.

Her exceptional contemporary abstract compositions, painted primarily in oils are typically lavish in both their confident and colourful artistic execution and their physical scale. Bold and imposing yet with a remarkably delicate complexity, the vibrant pointillist, almost mosaic, style of her work is at once distinctive, energetic and visually arresting.

Fleur strives in her work not merely to depict what she has observed and witnessed but rather to evoke the emotions experienced and remembered. Drawing her inspiration from the splendour and drama of both the natural and man-made landscape, her art steps beyond what is seen to what is felt, distilling light, colour and texture to the simply beautiful.

Amongst her artistic influences, she counts the Impressionist and Post-Impressionist painters, Symbolist Gustav Klimt and contemporary artists such as Cornish painter Allan Caswell. She exhibits at numerous galleries and has pieces in private and commercial collections both in the UK and Europe and as far afield as Canada.
